Investigation of the Effect of Bonding Parameters on the Mechanical Strength of the Joint in the Adhesive Bonding of PLA Materials Produced by Additive Manufacturing

From the past to present, plastic materials are used extensively in all areas of industry, thanks their shaping capabilities. Especially last 10 years, with proliferation desktop type 3D printers additive manufacturing sector, thermoplastics have become most widely material. Therewith, assembly produced by this method has gained so much importance. Since low surface energy, there difficulties performing adhesive bonding process, which is a popular joining method, and some issues (adhesive type, cleaning, etc.) should be carefully considered. In study; PLA sheets were means joined two different adhesives (Loctite 9492 Terason 9225). For preparation, mechanical sanding was performed using 320 600 grit size SiC sandpaper. Adhesive joints created from PLA-PLA material three thicknesses (0.3, 0.18 0.1mm). Joints subjected tensile test properties examined. The results showed that high fill ratio printing increases strength parts. addition, adhesively bonded surfaces affected variation thickness type. Whilst an increase Loctite EA joints; just opposite effect Teroson PU 9225 observed.
